Ozempic is primarily prescribed for adults with type 2 diabetes to help control blood sugar levels. If you’re someone who has struggled to keep your blood glucose within target ranges despite diet, exercise, and perhaps even other medications, Ozempic could be right for you.

The medication has a dual use, often helping those who struggle with weight loss. The FDA did not specifically approve Ozempic as a weight loss drug.
